Advance RallySTORY / GAMEPLAY
The fun part of this game is customizing your car to match the track's conditions. The cars are rated based on their maximum speed, acceleration, handling and grip, with adjustable slider controls for steering, transmission, brakes, and suspension. There is a selection of tires for racing on tarmac, gravel, mud and snow to help cope with varying weather, along with an option for manual or automatic gear shifting. Appropriate backgrounds and track textures are different from country to country. There are four gameplay options: By choosing the World Rally option it unlocks cars and upgrades to use in single-race and practice modes in 14 different countries with 3 circuits each. The other mode is the Co-driver that puts you on the passenger's seat, calling out commands to the driver. Time trials mode let you set your personal best. The last mode is the License mode with specific challenges and unlocks a bonus car. Additional features include a gauge for tracking progress on each track, automatic replay of each circuit from different camera angles, a RPM gauge, audible co-driver commands in real-time and a recap chart showing position and times when finishing a race.

GRAPHICS / SOUND
The graphics are pretty cool. All tracks are in a mixed 2D and 3D environments. The backdrops are in 2D, featuring scenes of the country that the race is taking place, whilst the rest are in 3D, running fast and quite smooth. The game has plenty of colors and the car models are nicely drawn and there are also some weather effects like rain and snow! The game's sound is great, offering several sampled sound effects (from the engine to the tires' sounds) in good quality. Advance Rally's sound additionally includes a few catchy tunes during racing.
